Sports and Classical Tai Chi

Training in "Internal Discipline" of Classical Tai Chi has significant impact on a person's sports performances in many ways. The intense tuning of the neuro-muscular communications throughout the body enable the person's movements to be more instinctive and effortless, more fluid but precise, more explosive and yet more relaxed.

In this video, I will show one aspect on how to use teachings from "Internal Discipline" to deliver internal power and how the top athletes in their field utilize the same methodology to generate power and achieve supremacy in their field.

I select two body configurations as examples:
1) The upper half body turning move.  2) The upper quarter body move.
The general characteristics are that one sets the proper body configuration and delivers internal power only at the last minute before the strike or hit. After the strike or hit, all these athletes are able to steadfastly maintain their body configuration during the follow through movement.

The Youtube video will show the following:
1) The upper half body turning move: examples of our training for this move; Roger Federer's tennis forehand; Jose Bautista and Prince Fielder's baseball batting, and Manny Pacquiao's boxing.

2) The upper quarter body move: examples of our training for this move; Roger Federer's tennis volley at the net and his backhand, and Manny Pacquiao's boxing.
